Taking part in Private Equity Funds through PowerShares PSP

BusinessWeek has an interesting article this week on smaller investors being able to take part in private equity investing. Until now private equity funds have generally required investors to be “accredited” meaning they must have a net worth of over 1 million dollars (excluding personal real estate) which put private equity investing out of reach for many. Some private equity funds have recently dropped minimum investments to as low as $250,000, though that is still out of reach for the vast majority of investors who seek to diversify their investments broadly.
